Full Ripping lesson 300mb MKV Format

A short tutorial on making mHD movies... :)

Tools you will need
1- MeGUI:

http://www.softpedia.com/get/Multimedia/Video/Encoders-Converter-DIVX-Related/MEGUI.shtml

2- AviSynth:

http://www.softpedia.com/progDownload/AviSynth-Final-Download-14399.html

3-Koi Xvid Codecs
In case you get Fourccd error, download and install these codecs:
 http://www.free-codecs.com/download_soft.php?d=4521&s=52

4-Nero Digital Audio Codecs

http://www.nero.com/eng/downloads-nerodigital-nero-aac-codec.php

Upon extracting the archieve, you will find 3 files (neroAacDec.exe, neroAacEnc.exe, neroAacTag.exe) in folder named win32. Copy these three files to C:\Program Files\MeGUI\. Make sure not to copy the folder but the files.

Important note: I am using windows 7. Don't confuse yourself by thinking windows7 as a must for encoding. MeGUI runs much better in windows xp. All required tools run on xp, vista, and 7.

To Begin:

1. Download MeGUI and AviSynth, Install and Update:
install MeGUI, update it. (Update is a MUST! then load all profiles offered during the update!) then Install AviSynth (and do update).

2- Give Input Video-(Create Avisynth Script)

To select the source, go to Tools-->AVScript,
(BE SURE TO USE GOOD QUALITY SOURCE -- HD, HDrip, Blue Ray, BR Rip, DVD, DVDrip or at least R5 LINE).

Just untick/unselect the Resize, tempering with the resolution doesn't turn out quite well, so original resolution is fine without resizing.
Only HD and BR need to be resized and cropped!

3. x264 format
Cause a lot of people can't find HQ Slower profile, here are the updated profiles (by: ME), just unpack them in the megui directory and overwrite yours and when you run the program all profiles should appear!

http://rapidshare.com/files/147275208/MeGUIallprofiles.rar
Make sure that codec is x264 and container/extension/File Format is MKV.

Use HQ Slower profile for encoding. If you want to do experiments .. you are free to do so. May be you could find some better settings

4. Audio

Audio source (input) is the same as movie source file!(means use the same file for both video and audio) Open it, then find the source video file. Select it and open. Select NDAAC (Nero Digital Audio Codec) as codec. Use profile NDAAC-HE-64kbs

Click on Config. Select Adaptive bitrate and set from 45-50kbs and click OK.

5. Final Step
Click on "Autoencode" button placed at the lower right corner of main display

Select a Container to be MKV (if it isn't already). This is where you decide the entire outcome/bitrate of the movie. Click "average bitrate" option and type the desired bitrate (example 500kbs total, 450kbs goes to video 50kbs to audio, of course if audio is set to 50kbs if it is set to higher bitrates then it will lower video bitrate), that is depending on movie duration your size and bitrate will vary. Aim to get the size 1MB BELOW the targeted size, if its 300MB rip, aim to 299MB, if its 400MB rip, aim to 399MB (this is because of compressing with winrar so you dont get fourth rar file on 300MB rips that is like 1-2MB's)

6. Encoding
In autoencode window click Queue. In upper left corner you have the tabs Input/Queue/Log. Click on Queue. Click Start. If no workers exist program will offer to create one!
And thats it. Now you have to wait.

On my machine it takes around 2 hrs.

According to famous 300mb encoder Adzapper, 100MB is 30min of the movie, 200MB is 60min of the movie, you get the point.

Certain parts have been taken from Miralemus great tutorial!
